About the Program
The FinTech Innovation Lab New York helps early- and growth-stage fintech companies accelerate product and business development by working closely with executives from financial services firms and with venture capital investors over its 12 weeks. Accenture and the Partnership Fund for New York City founded the Lab in 2010 and run it together, and according to the announcement it has since assisted entrepreneurs from 130 technology companies.
How the Lab Described Mayflower
The Lab’s announcement lists “Mayflower Specialty (New York)” among the 11 companies in the class and describes it in the following words.
“an AI-native liability managing general agent that underwrites risks such as model bias, drift, and hallucinations using an auditable scoring engine aligned with NIST and ISO standards.”
Mayflower’s application reflects the same attention to recognized standards. It asks how a company governs, tests and monitors its AI systems and which frameworks it follows, such as the NIST AI Risk Management Framework or ISO/IEC 42001. Underwriting takes those answers into account when it sets terms, so a company that already documents its AI governance against one of these frameworks is well placed to apply.
The 2026 Class
Mayflower joined ten other companies in the 2026 class: Artian, Beam AI, Charm Security, DFNS, Kobalt Labs, LinqAlpha, PVML, Skyfire, Varos and Zeplyn. According to the Lab, much of the class works on agentic AI applications in financial services, while others build infrastructure for secure AI deployment or tools for fraud prevention, digital asset operations, compliance and risk.
